Our Process

Applying our experience from developing the class leading, low-impact Caber House designs, we have created a new standard for small buildings. Using Passivhaus energy modelling, we ensure each Caber Cabin is a low-energy gem. Through working as a design and build service, constructing your cabin off-site, we can ensure your Caber Cabin can be produced in a simple, stress free process. This allows us to produce your cabin faster and more efficiently than through the standard tender process.

From the initial contact with our team, we are dedicated to providing you with a tailored service and ensuring your cabin is a great fit. We begin by discussing your exact requirements, potential location, and budget. Cost can be kept to a minimum through sticking to the standard Caber Cabin designs, however, we also build to bespoke requirements and make any specific amendments to our standard design should you wish to make alterations to suit your personal needs.

Once you are delighted with the design, pulling on our architect’s experience, we will guide you through the whole process. Taking care of planning and building warrant, if required, through to delivery, our team will ensure that the whole process is as simple and stress free as possible for you.

Once the design is finalised, we begin the production of your cabin in our workshop. Our team of craftspeople, construct your cabin to the highest standards and finishes, before it’s transported to your desired location.

On site, we engineer the ground and use an environmentally light-touch pad foundation system, developed to avoid the need for a more tradtional concrete solution. First testing the ground strength, the ground is then modified to hold the weight of your cabin. Through electing to supersede the outdated concrete foundation, we ensure that the site is not permanently damaged so it can be returned to nature, protecting the landscape we so desire to spend time in. The Cabin is then placed on site, connected, and opended up for you to enjoy.
